Choosing the right wedding officiant is one of the most important decisions you’ll make during the wedding planning process, because the way your ceremony feels will be something you and your families will remember forever. I work closely with each couple to create a fully customized ceremony that celebrates their unique relationship.
My Services Include:
Initial Phone Consultation – This is where we ‘meet’ for the first time! I will gather important information including your wedding date, time and location to ensure that I am available on your date. If I am available and you would like to move forward, I will send you an informative follow-up email indicating all of the documents I will require from you, including the time delay. Please keep in mind that your notice of marriage or of civil union must be published on the website of the Directeur de l’état civil for 20 days preceding the scheduled solemnization date (no worries though, as I will take care of this for you).
I will hold your wedding date for 1-week following this call, so that you have time to reflect and decide if you will honour me with the pleasure of officiating you wedding.
Planning Meeting (90 minutes) – This is where I will review all original documentation, and then we’ll get to the fun part. I will ask you questions about what you feel is important to include in your ceremony and get to know the two of you and learn about your relationship. This information will help me in writing your ceremony to make sure it reflects your personal relationship.
Ceremony Editing – Following our planning meeting, I will create your personalized wedding ceremony to be a true representation of your love and story.
Publication of the Marriage Notice – I will ensure that your notice of marriage or of civil union is published on the website of the Directeur de l’état civil for at least 20 days preceding the scheduled wedding date.
The Ceremony – I will arrive at your wedding early to help coordinate with your attendants and vendors and get ready for the processional. I am more than happy to work with other wedding professionals, and am perfectly comfortable with photographers taking pictures anywhere they would like during the ceremony. I will deliver the exact ceremony we’ve discussed, and create a wonderful experience for you and your guests.
Registration of Marriage or Civil Union Declarations – I will provide you with your signed copy following the ceremony and will file the required documentation with the Directeur de l’état civil. You will then receive a letter from them indicating how to obtain your Marriage Certificate. So exciting!
