You’ve taken an exciting step toward making your wedding ceremony official. But what actually happens after that first conversation?

Once you decide to move forward with Stephanie, there’s quite a bit happening behind the scenes to get everything ready—from your service agreement and legal documents to your ceremony planning meeting and, eventually, your wedding day.

And that’s where I come in!

As Stephanie’s Administrative Coordinator, I work behind the scenes to guide you through the paperwork and legal requirements and make sure everything stays organized along the way.

Here’s a little peek at what happens next.

Step 1: Welcome to Rose Gold Celebrations!

Once you’ve decided to move forward, I’ll be one of the first people you’ll hear from.

My role is to guide you through the legal paperwork and make sure everything is organized and ready for your planning meeting with Stephanie.

You’ll receive everything you need to get started, including:

• Your service agreement
• A questionnaire
• A checklist of the documents we’ll need
• Information about the next steps in the process

Think of me as your paperwork guide! I’m here to answer your questions, keep everything organized, and help make the legal side of getting married in Quebec feel as simple and stress-free as possible.

Step 2: You Send Us Your Documents

Next, it’s time to start gathering your documents.

The exact documents required can vary depending on your circumstances, so we’ll let you know exactly what we need from you.

As your documents come in, I carefully review everything to make sure we have what’s required and that everything is ready for the next stage of the process.

If something is missing or we need a different document, don’t worry! I’ll reach out and let you know what we need so we can take care of it well before your wedding day.

Step 3: I Prepare Your Legal Paperwork

Once we’ve received the information and documents we need, I begin preparing the legal paperwork for Stephanie’s review.

There are a lot of little details involved in legally getting married in Quebec, and accuracy matters.

Names, dates, places of birth, parents’ information, witness details—everything needs to be entered carefully and correctly.

My job is to make sure the administrative side is organized so that when you meet with Stephanie, you can focus less on paperwork and more on what really matters: your ceremony.

Step 4: Your Planning Meeting with Stephanie

Now for one of the best parts!

You’ll meet with Stephanie for your ceremony planning meeting, where she’ll guide you through both the legal aspects of your marriage and the creation of your ceremony.

This is your opportunity to talk about you—your relationship, your personalities, your story, and what you want your ceremony to feel like.

Together, you’ll discuss things such as:

• Your love story
• Your vision for the ceremony
• The overall tone and feel you want
• Your vows
• Readings
• Rituals or traditions
• Special people you’d like to include
• Personal touches that will make the ceremony feel like you

This is where all those little pieces start coming together and your ceremony begins to take shape.

Because your wedding ceremony shouldn’t feel like something that could belong to just anyone.

It should feel like yours.

Step 5: Your Marriage Publication Is Submitted

After your planning meeting, there’s still plenty happening behind the scenes.

One of the big next steps is submitting your notice of marriage for publication—how exciting!

This is an important part of the legal process of getting married in Quebec and needs to be completed before your wedding day.

Once the publication has been submitted, we continue keeping track of the remaining details leading up to your ceremony.

If we’re still waiting for any outstanding documents, identification, or witness information, I’ll send you a friendly reminder to make sure we have everything we need.

Wedding planning comes with a lot of moving pieces, so our goal is to keep the legal side organized and on track while you focus on the exciting parts of planning your big day.

Step 6: Your Wedding Day!

And then, somehow, the day you’ve been planning for finally arrives.

It’s your wedding day!

By this point, the paperwork has been prepared, the details have been reviewed, and your ceremony has been thoughtfully created.

Stephanie can focus on what she does best: standing beside you as you make it official and delivering a heartfelt, meaningful ceremony that celebrates your relationship.

And behind the scenes, I can smile knowing that all those emails, documents, questionnaires, reminders, and little details helped get you here.

Step 7: Making It Official After the Ceremony

The process doesn’t quite end when you say “I do.”

After your ceremony, Stephanie takes care of submitting your marriage declaration to the Directeur de l’état civil so that your marriage can be officially registered in Quebec.

Once the Directeur de l’état civil has registered your marriage, you’ll be able to order your official marriage certificate directly from them.

And just like that, all of those documents, signatures, meetings, emails—and months of wedding planning—have led to something pretty amazing:

You’re married!

More Than Paperwork

People might look at my role and think that my job is mostly about collecting documents and preparing paperwork.

And yes, there’s definitely a lot of paperwork!

But to me, it’s about much more than that.

Every birth certificate, questionnaire, witness form, and email belongs to a real couple preparing for one of the biggest milestones of their lives.

Whether I’m answering a question about a document, explaining what information we need, sending a reminder, or making sure every detail is in the right place, my goal is always the same: to make this part of wedding planning feel organized, straightforward, and a little less overwhelming.

It’s such a privilege to work alongside Stephanie and support our couples as they prepare for one of the happiest days of their lives.
